Terms of Use
These Terms govern your use of Deepmode (the web app, Chrome extension, and related services). By creating an account or using Deepmode, you agree to these Terms.
1. What Deepmode is
Deepmode is a focus and productivity tool that helps you work in timed sessions, track your streaks and discipline, and optionally block distraction websites during a session.
2. Eligibility & Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Deepmode. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password
- All activity that occurs under your account

3. Plans, Billing, and Cancellations
Deepmode offers a free tier and a paid Pro plan. All billing is handled securely by our payment processor (Stripe).
- By starting a Pro subscription, you authorise recurring charges until you cancel.
- You can cancel future renewals anytime from the Stripe billing portal or by contacting support.
- Unless required by law, fees already charged are non-refundable.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Deepmode for any illegal or harmful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
- Copy, reverse-engineer, or resell Deepmode without written permission
5. Focus Data and the Chrome Extension
When you use Deepmode, we store information such as your sessions, planned and actual duration, streaks, categories, and notes. The Chrome extension may read the URL of the current tab to block sites you've configured as distracting.
We do not record the contents of your screen or keystrokes. For details, see our Privacy Policy.
6. Intellectual Property
Deepmode, including its name, logo, design, code, and content, is owned by us or our licensors. You are granted a personal, non-transferable, limited licence to use the service in accordance with these Terms.
7. Third-party Services
We integrate with third-party services such as Stripe (billing) and analytics tools. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies.
8. Service "As-Is" & Limitation of Liability
Deepmode is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee any particular productivity outcome, grade, job offer, or business result.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of profits, loss of data, or other indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of Deepmode.
9. Termination
You may stop using Deepmode at any time and may request account deletion by emailing hi@deepmode.app.
We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, misuse the service, or use Deepmode in a way that risks harm to other users or our infrastructure.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-app. Your continued use of Deepmode after changes become effective means you accept the new Terms.
